As institutions continue to evaluate the tokenization of real-world assets (RWAs), Real Finance and Anchorage Digital have announced a strategic partnership. The companies disclosed that they will integrate tokenization, custody, fund management, settlement, and asset servicing capabilities into a single infrastructure, aiming to lower the operational barriers for institutions entering on-chain capital markets.
Covering the entire asset lifecycle
According to disclosures from both parties, the collaboration will cover asset issuance, custody, settlement, services, and secondary market liquidity. The two companies stated that the current tokenization market still suffers from fragmented infrastructure, with different service providers often handling different aspects, increasing institutional costs and slowing down product rollout.
Real Finance provides blockchain-based tokenization infrastructure; its network is an EVM-compatible Layer 1, positioned for on-chaining of real-world assets. Anchorage Digital offers regulated custody, fund management, settlement, and institutional-grade security services.
Anchorage provides escrow and fund management services.
In this arrangement, Anchorage Digital will provide regulated custody and fund management infrastructure for the Real Finance ecosystem and its native token, ASSET. Both parties also stated that Anchorage will serve as the underlying custody layer for Real Finance's on-chain tokenized financial instruments, facilitating the safekeeping and operation of related assets.
Both parties stated that this arrangement aims to integrate regulated custody services with asset issuance capabilities within the same system to meet institutional requirements for security, compliance, and seamless workflow. In addition to infrastructure cooperation, the two companies also plan to connect their institutional client resources.
- Real Finance anticipates driving increased custody demand through asset issuers and new client onboarding.
- Anchorage plans to bring institutional clients into Real Finance's tokenization and on-chain infrastructure solutions.
Targeting institutional on-chain capital markets
The management teams of both companies stated that the focus of the collaboration is not on a single token issuance tool, but on a complete infrastructure for institutional-scale use cases. Both parties believe that when institutions enter the on-chain financial market, in addition to tokenization itself, they also need supporting capabilities such as custody, settlement, asset servicing, and lifecycle management.
Both parties also stated that this framework could support a variety of tokenized assets in the future, including private credit, investment funds, real estate, structured products, and financial instruments integrated with the banking system.
Additional information:Anchorage Digital is the parent company of the first federally chartered crypto bank in the United States. This collaboration also shows that the RWA project is placing more emphasis on regulated custody and settlement capabilities, rather than just on-chain asset transactions.
