AI programming startup Lovable has expanded its multi-year partnership with Google Cloud. While the contract amount was not disclosed, TechCrunch, citing sources familiar with the matter, reported that the agreement will increase Lovable's usage on Google Cloud by five times, including AI computing resources.

Under this new arrangement, Lovable will also gain access to more models, including Anthropic's Claude and Google's own Gemini. Claude is currently widely used for programming tasks, which means this collaboration involves more than just expanding cloud resources; it also encompasses model provisioning and enterprise-level distribution.

Involving Claude and Gemini

The report mentions that Anthropic has received particular attention. Google has previously provided Anthropic with substantial cash and computing power support and set performance targets. Lovable, as one of the fastest-growing AI startups in Europe, expanding its use of Claude could help Anthropic improve its related business performance.

According to data previously disclosed by Lovable, the company's annualized revenue exceeded $400 million in February of this year. The company stated that at that time, it had only 146 employees and added $100 million in annualized revenue in a single month. Lovable also stated that more than half of the Fortune 500 companies are using its products in some way.

Access to Google's enterprise sales system

This collaboration further integrates Lovable into Google Cloud's enterprise ecosystem. Lovable's new agent offerings will be available in Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise Agent Gallery. This allows enterprise customers to purchase services directly through Google's procurement and billing system.

For Lovable, this means a shorter path to acquiring large enterprise customers. For Google Cloud, bringing third-party AI agents into its enterprise market will also help expand revenue from cloud services and model calls.

It will also integrate Wiz security capabilities.

Another part of the collaboration is security. Lovable plans to integrate with Wiz to inspect code generated by both human developers and AI agents. The report notes that this integration will enable the real-time identification and remediation of security issues.

Wiz was Google's largest acquisition in recent years, valued at $32 billion, and the deal was completed in March of this year. Including Wiz in the partnership demonstrates Google's strategy of packaging and advancing its cloud, model, agent distribution, and security capabilities to secure more enterprise-level AI contracts.

From Google's perspective, these collaborations are also related to its massive capital expenditure plans. The report mentions that Google plans to invest approximately $180 billion to $190 billion in capital expenditures this year, continuing to expand its enterprise customer base and AI usage, which is seen as a significant source of revenue supporting such investments.
