According to CoinWorld, Tether and Fastet launched a gold-backed Visa card on June 3rd, allowing users to earn rewards in the form of tokenized gold for everyday payments. Cardholders can spend at merchants accepting Visa, with the conversion processed in the background. The new card offers eligible users up to 6% cashback, with rewards expected to be credited to their Fastet wallets in real time. Users can invest a fraction of their purchases in XAUT, making gold accumulation more of a savings habit than a market transaction. The card will be accepted at Visa merchants worldwide, demonstrating how stablecoin infrastructure can go beyond dollar transfers. Tether stated that XAUT accounts for over $2.6 billion in the tokenized gold market, with an overall market valuation exceeding $5.3 billion.
