The Bank of America's Bull & Bear Index fell from 8.4 to 7.4, ending a sell signal that had lasted for over three months, but Hartnett bluntly stated that "it's too early to talk about bottom-fishing." The S&P 500 has not officially entered "correction territory," and a broad global buy signal has not yet been triggered. Before bulls capitulate and macroeconomic data is revised downwards in panic, the time is not yet ripe for contrarian buying. He also stated that if Trump's credibility is damaged, the dollar bear market will return, and the bull market for gold and international stocks will resume.

In response to soaring energy bills and lira devaluation pressures stemming from the war with Iran, the Central Bank of Turkey sold over 118 tons of gold (worth approximately $20 billion) in two weeks, an amount analysts say is equivalent to 15% of its reserves accumulated over the past six years. Last week alone, it sold nearly 70 tons, marking the largest weekly decline since at least 2013.
