Alchemy's AI-powered agent payment product, AgentCard, is now integrated with the Visa network. Once integrated, the AI agent can complete online ordering, renewals, and service registrations with user authorization, covering both payment and identity verification.
Visa payment capabilities can be directly accessed.
According to Alchemy, AgentCard integrates with Visa Intelligent Commerce. This service allows an AI agent to complete some online transactions on behalf of consumers, such as booking travel, purchasing daily necessities, or renewing subscription services, without requiring users to manually navigate to the checkout page each time.
Alchemy states that AgentCard is compatible with AI agents built from different model providers, including OpenAI and Anthropic models. The company claims this means the agent is not dependent on a single model ecosystem and can be used in a wider range of AI applications.
Retain existing card benefits and credit limit
The company stated that after integrating with Visa, AI agents can complete transactions using payment tokens issued by Visa, while retaining the original credit card rewards, credit limits, and other cardholder benefits, without needing to create new payment accounts or credentials for the agents separately.
AgentCard's routing layer selects an available payment method for each transaction. If certain merchants or scenarios do not yet support the native payment protocol for AI agents, the system will fall back to one-time tokens to complete the payment.
- Payment method: Prioritize using available payment mechanisms.
- Rollback plan: Use one-time tokens if not supported.
- Account setup: No need to add a new separate payment account
Provide email and mobile phone number simultaneously
In addition to payment capabilities, AgentCard assigns unique identity information to each agent, including an agentcard.email email address and a new phone number. Alchemy believes this layer of identity configuration allows AI agents to register for services, receive verification codes, and complete account operations just like individual users.

Currently, payment infrastructure for "agency-based commerce" is still in its early stages. In addition to Alchemy, companies such as Stripe, Visa, and Mastercard are also advancing in this direction, attempting to equip AI agents with more complete transaction execution capabilities.
